MEET EDWARD K. MARTIN, JR.

Saxophonist

Edward King Martin, Jr. is an accomplished saxophonist who has been playing music for over 25 years. A Maryland based artist who is well-versed in several genres, such as Jazz, gospel, classical, and R&B music. He started his career as a music therapist for students with disabilities and transitioned into supporting the community in other ways.

He is currently a Police Officer in the DC Metropolitan area with 19-years of service, numerous awards, and a Medal of Valor. Some of his notable music accomplishments include opening for artists such as Floetry at Bowie State University and Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder at a Washington DC National Football League (NFL) Kick-off. He also frequently leads performances within the DC/MD/VA area at events such as the Annual Prince George’s County District 2 Awards, Festivals (County-wide Juneteenth Celebration), and local establishments.

While his career is an important part of his life his ultimate goal is to positively engage others through his love for music and faith in God.
